7 Nigerian celebrities who have been married for more than 20 years

One of the most common criticisms of celebrity weddings worldwide, particularly in Nigeria, is that they do not last and, when they do, there is usually drama. This way of thinking does not appear anywhere. In truth, many celebrity partnerships fail, and many have failed throughout the years.

But not all of them. Today, we will count down 7 Nigerian couples who have been married for more than TWENTY YEARS! That is a significant achievement, and today I remarked, “You know what? Why not honour nuptials that have endured the test of time?

1. Mofe-Damijo, Richard

Richard Mofe-Damijo and his wife Jumobi celebrated TWENTY ONE years of marriage on December 29th, last year. RMD took to Instagram and wrote:

I can’t believe we’ve been together for 21 years! My bicycle My Abk Abiks, please. courageous and strong You gave up your renown to provide us with a place to live! “One in the family is sufficient,” you stated! I am unworthy. Thank you for yesterday, today, and always. I adore you tremendously!

2. Joke Silva

Talk about going the extra mile. Joke Silva and her husband, famous actor Olu Jacobs, celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary last year. Unfortunately, Joke disclosed last year that Olu suffers from dementia with lewy bodies, a degenerative condition. The bright side is that he has an incredible woman in his corner who has chosen to ride beside him and love him through it all. Thirty-six years is no laughing matter!

3. Alabi, Tope

Tope Alabi, a popular gospel singer, and her husband Olusoji celebrated TWENTY ONE years of marriage last November. Tope celebrated the victory on Instagram, writing:

We took the promise to be together as husband and wife 21 years ago, at a period when destiny had not even arrived. We are who we are because of God’s Grace, even through life’s thick and thin vagaries. I thank God for supporting our home and mission. It is not via might or might, but through His Mercy and Grace. Jesu ose oo (Thank you Jesus). We wish you a happy wedding anniversary.

4. Tony Umez

Tony Umez and his wife Patsy, who celebrated TWENTY TWO years of wedded bliss last year, are another celebrity couple who have been waxing on strong. Tony posted on his Instagram:

To God be the glory, we have been married for 22 years. It hasn’t been easy, but God’s grace has been enough. We thank God for this marriage, the love and happiness it has brought us, our children, our friends, and, most importantly, our lives.

5. Oboli Omoni

Last year, the Nollywood actress and her husband Nnamdi celebrated TWENTY ONE years of marriage. Omoni expressed her joy on social media, writing:

Do you know what day it is today? It’s our wedding anniversary. Don waka is 21 years old. Nobody waka, nobody go solo, we still keep on! Your grace, Baba God. Today, Nnamdi, I adore you even more than the first day.
