A South African woman has broken the Guinness World Record after giving birth to 10 babies at once.
The 37 year old woman identified as Gosiame Thamara Sithole, gave birth to her decuplets – two more than doctors had earlier detected during the medical scans.
According to husband named Teboho Tsotetsi, she gave birth at a hospital in Pretoria last night, Monday June 7.
The previous record was held by Malian Halima Cissé who gave birth to nine children in Morocco last month.
She delivered her seven boys and three girls by Caesarean section at Tembisa Township in Ekurhuleni.
Sithole, who has six-year-old twins, told the Pretoria News that she was not in any fertility treatment and that her pregnancy was natural.
