Man gets kicked out of mall over ‘indecent African attire’…
South African activist and author, Thando Mahlangu, got barred from a shopping centre recently over his African attire, and he took to social media to lament.
Thando posted a video showing the owner of the supermarket confronting him for wearing what he termed an inappropriate African in the shopping mall.
A part of their conversation is captured below.
“You are telling me I’m not supposed to wear African [clothes] in Africa,” Mahlangu says.
The Shop owner responds; “I’m saying this is a public place … I’m not allowing that here, this is my mall … right of admission is reserved”.
Mahlangu’s girlfriend then chipped in; “This is Africa then you can’t tell someone what to do, what to wear, at which mall”.
