About Clauder Competition
Applicant must be a playwright from New England, attending a college in New England, or be a New England resident attending a college out-of-state. Applicant must submit an original manuscript. Play must have a running time of at least one hour and require a maximum of eight actors. Winning play will be presented as a developmental reading during Portland State Company’s Little Festival of the Unexpected and a full production during Mainstage Season at Portland Stage. Two finalist winners will receive a professional reading of their play.
