Linnaeus University offers two different scholarship programmes for the moment, Linnaeus University Scholarship and Linnaeus University Scholarship for Current Student.
The Scholarship programme is offered for students who study master programmes. Students can only apply for this scholarship before commencing the programme.
Linnaeus University for Current Students is offered for students who are already enrolled in a two- or three-year lasting programme at Linnaeus University. Students can only apply for this scholarship after commencing the programme.
Important Information about the Linnaeus University scholarship
The scholarship covers 75 percent of the tuition fee, please see details regarding the application below. It is currently not possible to apply for this scholarship. Next application round will open 8th of February, 2023 for students that will commence their studies at Linnaeus University during autumn 2023. Last day to apply is 20th of February at 13.00 (1.00 PM CET, Central European Time)
There are a number of scholarships available, each providing up to a 75 percent tuition fee waiver for the full programme. The scholarships will initially be granted for one semester, but will automatically be extended for the duration of the study program (2 up to 4 semesters), provided that study results are satisfactory.

The scholarship Field(s) of study:
Master’s degree programmes in any subject
In order to meet the general entry requirements for master’s level studies, a bachelor’s degree is normally required. However, in order to take a master’s level single-subject course, it can sometimes be enough to have studied 90 credits within the same field of subject as the course in question. In addition, there are often specific entry requirements for the different programmes or courses. See each course’s or programme’s requirements of prior knowledge for correct entry requirements.
Degree
Programmes at master’s level lead to either a 1-year master’s degree (60 credits) or a 2-year master’s degree (120 credits). Some programmes lead to a professional qualification. It is also possible to put together your own degree at master’s level based on single-subject courses. Some degrees also make you qualified to apply to PhD studies.

English language requirements
In order to be eligible for university studies in Sweden, student must demonstrate that they meet the English requirements for the course or programme they wish to apply for. For information about what level of English requirements (IELTS, TOEFL, CEFR* etc.) is needed to meet the requirements of English 5 and English 6, visit Universityadmissions.se.
Timeline for the Scholarship
End of January/Beginning of February – All students who have applied for a Linnaeus University master program on www.universityadmissions.se as their first choice will get an email with information on how to apply for the scholarship along with a link to the application form. Make sure to check your junk mail/spam folder. The email is sent out 8th of February.
February 8, 2023 – Application opens.
February 20, 2023 – Application closes at 13.00 (1.00 PM CET, Central European Time)
End of April – Announcement of who will be receiving a scholarship from Linnaeus University

The motivation letter should contain a maximum of 600 words. Please answer the following questions in your motivation letter:
- Why do you want to study this programme at Linnaeus University?
- What other qualities do you have besides academic excellence?
- What are your career aspirations?
Student Eligibility for Linnaeus University Scholarships
You are eligible to apply if you:
• are from a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland
• have applied for a master programme at Linnaeus University via www.universityadmissions.se, before 16 January and have sent/ uploaded all required documents before 1 February .
• have chosen Linnaeus University as your first choice on your application on www.universityadmissions.se
• paid the application fee to www.universityadmissions.se before February 1.
• have filled out the application form before the deadline of the application.
Application instructions:
To be eligible for the Linnaeus University Scholarship, candidates must submit their programme application at www.universityadmissions.se by 16 January 2023. All students who have applied for a Linnaeus University master programme on www.universityadmissions.se as their first choice will get an email with information on how to apply for the scholarship along with a link to the application form. The deadline for scholarship applications is 20 February 2023.
